Today is a day that everyone in the world will remember. It is the day that we will all know as 9/11. The day that the Twin Towers fell. The day that shook the world.
It seems a shame we remember certain dates because of bad things that have happened. Thankfully, today can be remembered for something extraordinarily special too.
My housemate from University is one of the most beautiful people I know, both inside and out. On meeting her you may examine her minute frame and stunning features and think her a delicate creature, but once you get to know her you realise that she has a strength of character that would be on parallel with those servicemen that are taking part in the Inviticus games.
She is one of those people that when you are with them you know everything is going to be all right. Sadly, I do not get to spend as much time with her as I would like, but I know deep down that our friendship will always be there. Her wedding last summer was the highlight of my year; she made the most beautiful bride I have ever seen.
Looking back to university days, it made me realise how much she has grown from the first day I met her back in Holland Hall to our outrageous nights out in Timepiece to getting married and having a baby.
It always seemed likely that she would be the first to get married, but not only is she the first to become a Mrs, she is also the first to have a baby, and a baby boy at that.
I will now always remember 9/11 for a different reason. Today is the day that Ally Phayer gave birth to a beautiful boy. Today is the day that George Arthur Phayer came into the world. Today is the day that I would like to tell Ally how proud I am of her and how much I love her.
